I don't want to wear hearing aids. Will it cause problems if I put it off a few years?
Like most other problems in life that are left untreated, hearing loss can easily progress into something much worse.  Hearing loss left untreated can (sometimes quite quickly) turn into a condition called "auditory deprivation."   Over time, your brain will lose its ability to properly comprehend sound combinations and words. This means that you're left unable to understand and distinguish certain words.  So even if your hearing loss is minor, don't wait to correct it.  The ability to understand is something you don't want to lose!

After being fitted with hearing instruments, will I have to replace them often?
Usually, a hearing instrument can be adjusted to your changing hearing loss through our computer.   This requires you to come in for a visit so that we can make the adjustment. In most instances, this means you won't require new hearing instruments.

Can hearing instruments help with nerve deafness?
Studies show that 95% of hearing loss can be helped with amplification!  Most hearing instrument users suffer from nerve deafness.  Schedule an appointment today to see if you suffer from this type of hearing loss.

Will I be better able to understand in a crowd with hearing instruments?
Most background noise in our surroundings is low-frequency and masks out the weaker, high-frequency sounds.  Unfortunately, it is those high-frequency sounds that give our speech meaning and help us to distinguish individual words.  Cutting edge technology allows us to adjust the settings on your hearing aids to maximize your hearing abilities in a specific environments to aid in your hearing AND understanding in crowds.  This means better hearing and understanding in both crowded environments and quiet ones.

What do I do if my hearing instruments are broken, lost, or need adjustment?
Depending on your specific case, Minnesota Hearing Solutions may include in-office service to repair and adjust your hearing instruments.  You may also purchase a separate policy to protect against loss.

Is it difficult to wear hearing instruments?
Absolutely not.  In the past, the only hearing instruments available were generally bulky and a bit uncomfortable.  Now however, as one patient put it, "They are small and very easy to wear, I can hardly tell I have them in!"  Most modern styles are virtually invisible and completely comfortable.  You'll hardly know you're wearing them!

Will others be able to tell when I am wearing hearing instruments?
First of all, it's likely that those who know you well already know that you have a hearing problem.  Not only that, but it's much harder to hide the fact that you have hearing loss than it is to hide a hearing instrument.  But if visibility is a concern, you needn't worry.  There are many hearing aids available that are so small as to be virtually invisible.  A properly fitted and adjusted hearing aid is virtually unnoticeable to others, but best of all, now your hearing loss will be too!

Does hearing loss really affect my overall health?

According to a recently published study by Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and National Institute on Aging, seniors with hearing loss are significantly more likely to develop dementia over time than those who retain their hearing.  Untreated hearing loss has been linked to dementia and other cognitive disorders.  80% of people with hearing loss do nothing about it.  Don't be a statistic and let your hearing loss turn into something much more serious. What Our Clients Are Saying

"I recently purchased hearing aids from Minnesota Hearing Solutions and am very pleased with the service I received and how well I can hear with them now. I was flip-flopping whether I should get them or not and am very glad I did!  With my hearing loss, many times I felt in a world of my own not being able to hear the conversations around me well. They are small and very easy to wear, can hardly tell I have them in!"
